Deulofeu has high hopes for Sevilla season

The Barcelona loanee was pleased with how the Europa League holders dispatched Feyenoord, while coach Unai Emery revealed the reasons behind his squad rotation
Sevilla's Gerard Deulofeu has high hopes for the club this season after the Barcelona loanee starred in their 2-0 win over Feyenoord on Thursday.
Unai Emery's men triumphed in the Europa League last season and opened their defence of the trophy in equally victorious fashion thanks to strikes from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Stephane M'Bia.
Deulofeu, who is on a season-long loan at Sevilla, was happy with how they swep aside their Group G rival and is confident he will improve as a player away from Camp Nou this year.
"It was a tough game," he told reporters. "We knew that they are a strong rival. But we were able to get ahead on the scoreboard and bag all three points.
"It would not have been normal to come here and star in everything. I need to progress gradually. I trust myself and expect a lot from myself and the club this season."
Emery rotated seven players for the game following their weekend win over Getafe, which he justified by saying he wants his whole squad brimming with confidence as 2014-15 kicks into full swing, while urging caution over Deulofeu's performance.
"I wanted to give confidence to some players who are going to be important and are working hard," Emery said. "Competitiveness within my team is necessary during the season and it especially helps that we've come away with a win.
"Deulofeu has a lot of explosiveness, but he must choose what to do with the ball a bit better and communicate with his team-mates. He wants to improve
